Shopify currently has the largest ecommerce platform market share in the USA, with more than one in four (29%) online businesses using it to run their stores. It’s worth noting that Shopify is also the top ecommerce platform worldwide, powering 27% of global online businesses.
In second place is Wix Stores, with 21%, followed by Squarespace’s Add to Cart and WooCommerce Checkout, with 15% each.
As the four largest ecommerce platforms, Shopify, Wix Stores, Squarespace’s Add to Cart, and WooCommerce Checkout’s combined market shares in the USA make up 80%. In other words, more than three-quarters of online-based shops in the USA use one of these four leading ecommerce platforms to sell their merchandise.
